This policy explains how The Finance Reveal researches, writes, reviews, and maintains its content. It exists so readers know exactly what standards sit behind every article, guide, review, and calculator we publish.
Our editorial promise
We publish to help readers make better money decisions, and nothing else. Our guidance is written to be accurate, balanced, and genuinely useful. Commercial considerations never shape the substance of what we say, and we will always tell you when a page contains affiliate links or sponsored material.
How we research
Every article begins with primary sources. We rely on official regulators, government agencies, central banks, published statistics, academic research, and the providers’ own documentation rather than secondhand summaries. When we cite a figure, such as an interest rate, a contribution limit, or a fee, it is checked against the original source at the time of writing.
Who writes our content
Articles are produced by writers with knowledge of the subject they cover, and each topic area is matched to a contributor who understands it. Where a piece involves technical or regulated subject matter, it is reviewed by someone with relevant experience before publication. Author profiles describe each contributor’s background and area of focus.
Review and fact-checking
Before anything goes live it is checked for factual accuracy, clarity, balance, and completeness. Numbers are verified, claims are supported, and we test that the guidance would actually help a reader in the situation described. Articles on complex topics carry a “reviewed by” credit in addition to the author.
Keeping content current
Financial information dates quickly. Rates change, rules change, and products are withdrawn. We review our published work on a regular schedule and update it when the facts move. Every article shows a “last updated” date so you can judge how current it is. Significant changes are noted on the page.
Corrections
We aim to get things right, and when we don’t, we fix them openly. If we publish a material error, we correct it as soon as it is verified and note the correction where appropriate. Readers can report suspected mistakes through our Contact page, and we treat accuracy reports as a priority.
Independence from advertising
The people who write and edit our content are kept separate from commercial decisions. Advertisers and affiliate partners have no say in our ratings, rankings, or conclusions, and no ability to review articles before they publish. Our approach to those relationships is set out in full in our Affiliate Disclosure and Advertiser Disclosure.
Educational, not personalized advice
Our content is general financial education, not advice tailored to your circumstances. We explain options and trade-offs so you can make an informed choice or take a clearer question to a qualified professional. See our Disclaimer for the full terms.
